Modding LED Question

    i think, im not sure, but is there different types of LED's? I'm going to radio shack today and i just wanted to make sure i dont get the wrong ones. i need 6 total, 3 for keyboard, 1 for power LED, 1 for Cdrom and 1 for cdrw. actually, i might replace the HD activity led also, just for fun :p

    Well, yes.

    Most any LED will work as a drop in replacement for the things you mention. But Radio S*ack sells a bunch of items that my not, even though they're packaged like LEDs.

    Avoid the flashing ones, or the one labeled "12V" and you should be fine.

    another thing to keep in mind is the size. 5mm one may require some bezel drilling to tottaly fit in , I'd say get a 3mm , usually will fit most anything.
