Just wondering if anyone could tell me what to look for in an LED to light an etch with a 3" radius... It's for my mousetrap car, which will be run during the day, so it needs to be pretty bright. Also, will light from an LED carry through a bend in plexy? That is to say, could I have the LED and one end, bend the plexy twice, then etch it beyond the second bend, and have the LED light the etch? I thought I could, but figured I'd doublecheck... As usual, any help is greatly appreciated! (And the more info, the more frequent flyer points you earn!)
Two bends may be pushing your luck. All I can say is go for a test piece. You'll probably be better off painting your etch with something reflective, or using a silver/chrome foil instead. Indirect LED light has to be wicked to be seen in daylight or even roomlight.
