    well i ordered three RBG LEDs and they have 4 prongs, one ground, one for red, one for green, and one for blue. I want to link them all so u can control them all. I am using a shuttle. I have alo ordered one red LED rocker switch, one blue LED switch, one green LED switch, and one on/off lED switch. I have firured this out so far:

    now i dont know what to hook the positive and negative LED prongs up to. sorry the diagram is a bit confusing. i also want to hook up the on/off switch so it turns on and off the whole config.

    Hello and welcome to the forums.

    If you are talking about the LEDs embedded in the rocker then simply hook the positive end of that embedded LED to the positive end of the LED that you want to turn on.

    I am assuming that you are utilizing the appropriate resistor too.

    well i mean the rockers have 4 stubs, one positive for the embedded led, one negatvie for the embedded led, and two for the switch, i am attaching the actual leds to one of the stubs for the switch and power to the other so the switch turn on the appropriate color of all the leds. i need to know what to wire the two embedded led stubs on the rockers, the mobo? psu? also i want another rocker, one without an embedded led, to turn on or off all the leds. how would i wire this? BTW you can just revise my diagram

    I think we need a bit more info on the switch led properties, got a link on the supply?

    All the ground RGB led leads (common cathodes) can go to 0V with suitable resistors between the various colour anodes and their switch.

    The in-switch leds will connect between the switch output tag (to led anode) and led cathode to ground, again with a resistor to suit.

    This is what I mean:

    [IMG]

    The positive, anode, of the internal LED taps into the output of the switch or the anode of the LED you are turning on. The schematic sub-set of the original connected switch setup is for if you have LEDs that have a different foward voltage requirement. Electricity will flow through the easiest path, the one with less resistence.

    To turn all off, simply put another switch directly in line with all the other switch's power tap to the PSU.

    well i figured it out, the site had a diagram, avner said that i should use a 5v (red) psu wire to supply power but can i use a 12v? and ya the power switche thing makes sense, sorry im a n00b. this is gonna be a lot of soldering

    Yes you can use the 12v line for power, make sure to adjust your resistor selection accordingly.

    "If anyone uses this diagram, remember to add appropriate current limiting resistors for each LED (82R for green and blue, 140R for red would do)." where would i buy these

    You won't find 140R easily in the shops, but 120R or 150R can be substituted. Got a Radio Shack nearby? Otherwise Futurelec is low delivery.

    Note if you use Xiachunyi's top system with 1 resistor running two same-colour leds, the values avner suggests will need to be halved (39R/43R and 68R respectively).

    And on his bottom diagram, the resistor first shown to the right of the switch wants moving to the left so the two resistors aren't in series.
    Code:
              /                 RGB (red)
    5V------O/  0--+---120R----->|----------0V
                   |
                   |
                   +---120R----->|----------0V
                           switch led (red)

    A "pot" is usually refered to as a variable resistor.
