News Left 4 Dead 2 sells 2 million in 2 weeks

Lol i waited for it to be in the valve complete pack and wellll

 

I get the feeling a good portion of those sales are due to the recent L4D2 sales happening here in the states. the PC version dropped to $30 for a few days, which is what spurred me to pick up a copy.

 

Valve is brilliant, they have a unique blend of marketing skill and great products.

I pre-ordered L4D2 and played the pre-order release, but once Shattered Horizon came out I logged zero (0) hours on L4D2, no relfection on Valve, they are still gods, it is just that 6 degrees of freedom holds my passion more than shooting up Republi.... uh er Zombies.

I bought L4D1 and hated it, then didn't buy L4D2 - maybe i am unusual...

 

It's too bad that Valve never releases any information about Steam. I'm sure that they don't want people to know how much money they're making because it would hurt their image as a small independent studio competing against those big mean retailers.

 

What are they going to do? They need to wrap up a story arc that has become way too large to effectively conclude in a five hour game. They just have writer's block. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they don't even have a story written for it yet.

 

I dunno, I didn't like it either. Couldn't get into it and not being a fan of multiplayer that isn't Battlefield 2, it seemed a bit shallow. It was almost as if it was developed by SEGA and designed for the arcades.

 

Have you actually played it?

Everyone I know who had the same opinion as you rapidly changed their minds after 20 minutes with the game.

There is no doubt that L4D2 is better than L4D.
I even uninstalled the original.

Problem with the release of L4D2 was that it was too close to the release of L4D. It divided the community. I still get invites to join L4D games...

 

At the store I work at we only sold 24 copies for 360 and 8 for PC in the first 2 days. Not very good if you ask me. With MW2 we sold 302 for 360, 300 for PS3 and 60 for PC on the first day alone. Of the 12 people on my steam list all bought L4D when it came out and only 2 bought L4D2 when it came out. From my perspective it doesn't look good at all.

 

It starts to get bad when you've no sleep, your at work and just wanting to take out a few more zombies.... LOL

 

then someone burps behind you and you automatically turn and shove them away like a boomer.

 

...and then you start repeatedly beating them senseless with a frying pan.
