Ok, i have a really strange, random problem and I was hoping somebody may be able to help.
It's happened about 3 or 4 times in the last 2 months, but occasionally, by computer decides that the left arrow key needs to be pressed and held down indefinately until i manage to log off or shut down...
It is NOT a keyboard issue - when it's happened i've unplugged my keyboard and tried a different one. I havent even been anywhere near the arrow key when it's happened.
It clearly not a regular occurance, but it is happening...

I've googled to no avail (found one other mention of it here, so i know i'm not alone, but i have no idea what's causing it!

Anyone able to shed any light?! :waah:

Run something as admin to get the UAC prompt. If at that dialog box, the Left key is being pressed, then it your USB port/controller, or keyboard..
If the problem doesn't occur, it could be malware installed on your computer that does that.

I can't do that, as it's not a regular thing - it just happens at wierd times - and very infrequently!
Oh, and I run everything as admin...

    Sounds like a broken plug.

"Oh, and I run everything as admin..."

What i mean is that my account is an administrator account - i'm not logged in to the Administrator account...
And i don't think it can be a broken plug as it did it without the keyboard connected :s

USB controller broken... try uninstalling it, in Device Manager, and restart your computer.
If it still occurs, re-install Windows (DO NOT INSTALL YOUR PROGRAMS, just update Windows, and live with IE for some time until you can confirm that your comp is O.K.).... I am NOT saying that it is Windows fault, but I say that it could be a malware program playing tricks on you. Else, it would seam your mobo USB is broken. Disable the motherboard USB, and get a USB card.

Maybe Windows being Windows? These things happen.
