I voted scarab since that's less generic than the overused cobra and is also a more recognizable symbol of ancient Egypt than the other two.

There may indeed be less airflow through the scarab, but I'm sure you'll find some way to fix that if needed. You've certainly got the skills for it!

    Thx for voting.
He he thats a bit how i feelt when i saw your project to, i actually started my build in september 06 but dident put the log out until i had about 50 procent done, but you got before me on the projectlog start he he.

I have seen your log and that you had problems on how to mount the moderboard ,cant u put it like i did in 40 degre angle?and im really looking forward to see u build those spears they look really nice and complex but on the other hand everything is complex with the whole pyramid shape.
I m watching your progres aswel and i hope that you solve the problems u have run in to.

    Regards

Initially of my build i was not sure of the whole layout of the case, smaller things like leds, fanholes, powidicator and buttons ,so i never post a sketchup of it ,however i have more or less decided on this layout (cable concilers is not in it because im not entirely sure on that one yet). Ive post it so u can get a better picture of the finished build.
By the way im no sketchup master :D

    So, how's this going, TapperSwe?

    I'm liking the layout.

Back in the 70's, there was this big thing about the power of the pyramid. Things like putting a razor blade in the center of a pyramid would keep it sharp, brilliant observations like that (I knew a guy that made his chicken coop in the shape of a pyramid...!?!). So, I'm wondering, putting the MB at an angle like that, is that to get the CPU in the center? J/K! --- I read all your posts.

I really do like the layout, looks like you'll be able to get to everything easily, but still have a compact package. Looking forward to what's next...

Would it work to slant the DVD as well?

    dacust:

    Thx for the compliment
At the moment im working with the Scarab fan guard ,i started of last sunday but did a mistake on the first one so i had to start all over again last monday, 8 hours wasted :grr: in Tuesday i had fever heat so i dident work at all ,i however picked up the work today so hopefuly i can post the result tomorrow or Friday.

I have seen a few articles about the powers of the pyramid shape and i also seen the razorblade theory among many others,i hope its just a myth what will it do to my components if not lol.

The reason for puting the mobo in a 45 degre angle is that it makes all the entrances on the mobo to come out the right way otherwise i would have to have all the cable runing in to the case ,it also gives me the space for the hdd and the dvd without having to make the case biger .

And yes it will work to slant the dvd(i dident on the sketchup though) i actually must mount it in the same angle as the mobo otherwise i wont be able to open the dvd whitout having to make a larger hole then the dvd hatch and that wouldent look to nice :D

(I knew a guy that made his chicken coop in the shape of a pyramid...!?!)
Did u ask him why? he he.

    Regards.

A few days late with the fan guard but like i told dacust i did a mistake with the first one so i had to start all over again.

I would also like to say thx for voting and i hope u like how it came out.

U will also see that i did a diferent scarab than on the picture thats because the wings on that one dident look good without all the feathers and those are just to small to do and would also impact negativly on the airflow.

No worklog this time, just the finished fanguard.

As u can see i did the screwhole/holders on the grill separetly from the ones holding the fan ,reason for that is that i want them to be round as the fangrill to better folow the lines of the grill and that cant be done with the long distance to the holes holding the fan.(i will drill the holes for the grill later)

I dident see it until i posted the pics but u can see that the ring abowe the scarab head is slightly misplaced to the left, that has been corected now.

This week i will complete the dvdstealth that i started of with two weeks ago.

    comments are of course welcome.

    Regards.
