Lenovo contest will choose the best mod ideas and give the budget to make it reality! There is only a handful of people entered so far. It's open to All Countries!

I have other commitments and won't be entering, but I'm sure folks here would be interested

I have to focus on what I could complete on time and buy for the cash.

-Yeah, just digging out a new idea to play with.:hehe:

Edit: Wait. I have to use their laptop?:(
Edit again: OK, found the desktops. Let's see if I can submit something that discards their case.:hehe:

Cool. They approached me about getting someone to a do a project for them a few months ago and I was chatting to Wolverine on MSN at the time. I was like, hey Magnus, fancy doing.... :hehe: The rest is history!

Arrrg! No submittal confirmation on the form!! I think I entered twice.

This should be interesting. My design discards their case, and the optical...and is on water.
I literally turned the thing inside out.:D

That's the thing, give me a $2000 budget, and I'll go ape****. That's a lot of money for just the extra parts.

-'Toad cost me $40. Bloo total was $800.

I'd love to have 2 grand to blow on a project, I've worked out the the mod in doing at present is going to cost me about £1600 all in.(Including hardware etc). I've probably spent about £60 on paint alone. I hate to think what it would have cost to have it professionally done...lol..then there's all the other bits..Why am I telling you lot, you know what it's all about...lol

I think I entered, but it's kind of hard to tell; there's no confirmation page or confirmation email. The text in the description box turned red, but it was definitely within the 500 word limit and there was no 'description too long' error message. Even tried it in a different browser, so I hope multiple identical submissions aren't frowned upon.

I don't see them mass producing anything I came up with in the near future. It will be interesting to see what concepts they accepted or rejected, though.

I think most of whats been entered is being knock back because it;s not what they want....Cheapskate being a prime example...lol

I just wrote Lenovo the following.... and will let you know their response

I've heard from 2 individuals who have submitted their description for a design(s) to your contest. They're concerned as to why Lenovo doesn't provide a confirmation page or confirmation email after their design has been submitted. It would be wise to confirm with them that Lenovo has received their submission and will contact them by a certain date as to whether or not their design has been chosen.

Are you receiving a large amount of submissions?

    Let me know your thoughts,
    Thank you, Bill Owen

Lenovo's contest was one of the discussion topics in the recent TMB Podcast. ..once you wade through all of the laughing & Giggling, there was some good information shared....lol

Please PM me your real name and email, and I'll forward it to lenovo to confirm.

Don't tell him who I am!!! I don't want to be responsible for burning out your buddy's eyes!

-Yeah, I went back and had a look at what I submitted. It looks pretty bad when you are awake.:hehe:

There's still a chance to get in everyone. The show doesn't start until October 15th-ish.
