a good step in the right direction. now all we need is more crazy res monitors like the old IBM T221 22.2" with a whooping 3840x2400 res.

Stereotypically boring Lenovo design as usual. :/

Seems pretty expensive, should be able to pick up a 24" with the same resolution for a similar price!!

Yeah, but the 22" will look a lot sharper then the 24" at the same resolution. I've been wanting to pick up an LCD for some time now (yesh, I still use a CRT when I'm not on my laptop) and I might just give this Lenovo a go.

Still waiting for the 30" 3840x2400 display with a plethora of outputs and a quantum leap in colour reproduction and black levels :geek:

Why's everyone getting all excited about the style? It's a monitor - a bunch of plastic bits you'll never look at which support a big, expensive glass pane you'll look at a lot. Both of my monitors right now look equally bland and I can't say that it has ever caused me any significant trauma.

I see the story has now been updated. The Lenovo is US$550 so should come in under £400 (still cheaper than plenty of 24" of the same resolution). For reference, I found the EIZO CG221 for £2,800 (over US$5,000!). So this ThinkVision is still big news because it's the first consumer-level WUXGA 22"

Well a 30" WQUXGA display might not be too far off and Samsung has been experimenting with Dolby's IMLED technology so the two may meet in the not too distant future :)

I definitely mean outputs, DVI, Displayport, HDMI, Component, etc...

Ummh.. Why the hell should a monitor have outputs?

And this is great news! Screw 22"-ers with 1680x1050-resolution and TN-panels!

I'd buy it for $550. I wouldn't buy it for £550, which is of course what it'll cost here...

@ kipman and DXR: Maybe because the brightside screen is so expensive only the elite would buy a 20.000 pounds screen.

    bot:
Although i like the idea of a 1980 resolution on 22". I allready have a hard time reading words on my 1650 reso 20" widescreen. I rather have a cheap 26" or higher with 1980 res. with makes it more usefull as both monitor and moviescreen.
