doesn't matter if you believe in it or not but lent starts tomorrow. What are you giving up (if anything) I know what I'm going to stop for the long 40 days and nights.
Hmmm... I really should give something up, but I'm a lazy Catholic. If I do, it will be something easy (like chocolate), and therefor kind of negates the whole reasoning behind giving something up.
Nah, I've been losing it for a long time. It's just finally hit the point where I've stopped trying to keep it.
I wanted to give up moderation, but my wife said that doesn't count. This year we're giving up fast food. -monkey
i should give up school. i'll phone in and say im not coming to school because i gave it up for lent. i doubt they would appreciate that.
Mountain Dew and cursing. We're celebrating today cause I got two new jobs and I'm having my custom waterblock produced, then we'll be penitent tomorrow. Of course, for me celebration just means cake anyway...
Sugar. I am going to try and cut it out completely and continue beyond lent. Managed coffee last year and not touched it since except an espresso or two in the year at most (bit better than 4/5 a day)
I suggested i'd work from home and give up the office for lent but it didn't fly, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lent
As a recovering Catholic, I can proudly say my Lenten resolution of giving up Catholicism is going on 20 years. ;P
Last year I gave up alcohol, coffee and tea. This year I'll just settle with the alcohol I think, the coffee was a bit of a killer and don't think it'll really help giving it up now that I'm at uni.
