Remember the 27" IPS monitor with a 1mm bezel LG demo'd at CES? Well, it has finally been launched... Initially only available in Asian markets, an international roll out is coming soon. No pricing available. EDIT: Price listed as €299 on a dutch store called 4launch Note: There is a model called the LG DM2792 - a TV. Assuming both models use similar panel tech, here is a (Google-Translated) review in Korean. Press release for the IPS277L:
Because if you're marketing this monitor as an ideal solution for triple monitor setups, then 1080p makes a hell of a lot more sense
But a 27" @ 1080p? Most people who'd want the 27" would opt for something with a higher resolution. I understand the marketing purposes but it's a bit of a strange move to make a large screen (monitor) and have it at a lower resolution given that there are higher res screens. Undoubtedly it'll be cheaper, but a 3x 27" setup @ 1080p vertical seems a bit strange. 3x Portrait Cheesecake.
There are many 27" 1080p monitors already. This is by no means an exception. I would rather it was 1440p, though. Might have considered buying one then. Nice contrast ratio as well. The scientific term "Mega" put to good use there.
I looked at it and said "I WANT THREE! BUY SHINY NAO!" The bezel size is great! Then I saw that it's 1080p...
Are you all considering this as part of a system, or is it just standalone specification fetishism? Because you do realize that to get above an average of 60fps at 7680x1440 or 1600 in something like BF3 you'd need at least tri-sli, but more probably quad-sli 670's? Well, if you can afford to drop over £2K on your display/gpus alone...might I suggest you all chip in and buy me just one monitor/gpu?
Not in a triple screen setup with its 1mm bezel! 3x 1080P monitors are easier to power than running 3x 1440p or 1600p monitors. So it makes perfect sense for those that want a bigger triple screen setup, over that of the average 22/23" monitors. Running 3x 27" 1440P and downscaling to 1080p will just look horrible over that of a native display. I may have to buy 3, for when I'm home to connect to my laptop, for some eyefinity goodness.
LG M2752D is already selling for about £250 and it is an IPS panel. http://www.lg.com/uk/monitors/lg-M2752D-monitor-tv I am not sure what is the difference between the two models.
I swore when they introduced these line at CES they were 1440p, glad I got impatient and went with Achieva Shimian instead. I mean these would be great for a tv, and it looks very nice but not so good for pc monitor with such a large pixel pitch.
Seems that the 1.2mm bezel of the new LG IPS7 series is one big fat lie! Apparently, due to this the monitors have been withdrawn from shops as well.
