okay. i know this isnt much, let alone, anything new.
but i working on getting more 'solid proof' evidence.
aka pictures. like i had done with LGA 1156.
but. here is what i have gotten thus far.

    Core i5 2400. 3.1GHz. 6MB. $199.99us.
    Core i5 2500K. 3.3GHz. 6MB. $219.99us.
    Core i7 2600K. 3.4GHz. 8MB. $319.99us.

shipment to retail should be soon...
    if it hasnt already happened.

i will try and get hard evidence of this, as soon as i can.

Wow if only them dollar prices were truly converted over here in the UK. Still the 2500k looks interesting. Only 6mb cache tho? Even the 45nm Core2Quads got to 12mb.

It's not as simple as that. Core 2 used a ton of L2 cache because the front side bus was such a latency whore, it had to compensate for it with massive prefetching. SB and Lynnfield don't require it, plus, their 8MB is L3 cache, not L2: L2 is unique to every core, whereas L3 is shared between all four as an anti-snoop filter when threads are split between cores.
