After i've had my 6099B in about one year, it was time to try something new. I thought it would be better with something bigger, and with more space in it, so I let in an order ...on the Lian Li PC70. Since I started this project yesterday, here's some pics to show what i've done so far. The package A speakergrill from a lokal carstore can be used in may ways Finished cutting the grill Installed in the hddrack Comparing my old 6099b and the new PC70, it's huge, belive me. PSU is ready for sleaving, bought some slivercoloured 12mm and 6mm Finished sleaving and installed in the box Isn't it nice? Mist noisecontrol installed So to the last two things I've done so far, new front on the rheobus and a little reset mod. The original frontpanel from sunbeam The buttons and the lian li frontcover Good marking is important Finished So to the reset mod; as many of you know, the reset button on the lian li is just a little bit to short to reset without any help from pencils and stuff. Take one of those things you use to attach you MB... There you go
nice going so far man. love the rheobus! also your idea for the reset button is awesome! i gotta try it, ill have to hunt for some spare MB mount metal things lol. thanks for the info! and keep moddin!
Nice Mods! You should turn the fan around on your Jet 7 to face the right of the case, will make it look better and gave me better temps by doing it to my Aero 7+
depends on the motherboard design his jet 7 may look up or down and your motherboard it wil look left & right not aways the same
Mmmm, where are SCSI? I'm not sure, but it seems that all the HDDs are tied to the motherboard IDE controller, while the optical units are tied to a PCI IDE controller.... Anyway, great case (must say "huge"!) and nice job with the reobus!
I'm ordering a Aquacomputer LCD-display today I think. Other plans are to mount the hdd bay on anti vibration foots made for eheim pumps so they don't vibrate and make noise. Also I plan to cut out the integrated fangrills and replace them with the same speakermesh I used on the hdd bay. Feel I have to add a window to, just for showoff Don't know if I'll make one myself or just buy one yet but it's coming soon. And those drives are not Scsi drives It's right that the hdd's are connected to the MB and the opicals are connected to a pci controller card. Also I have this racingswitch I'm planning to use for something fun, maybe as a ccmos connector pin, so i don't have to open the case to reset BIOS.
Looks really nice! The only thing that I can suggest is some cable management. It is nice to have sleeved cables, but it still helps the appearance if they are not very visible. Nice work. - tf
great stuff dude. It'll look even better with the lcd.The inside looks so neat and tidy even tho there's a few cables about. The silver braiding looks really well.Good Job m8
How did u get the paint off the sunbeam rheobus, or did u use a different bezel? ^^^Please ignore-just re-read it and realised!^^^
Ok, new update. Receved my aqua lcd today, here's some pics. Also cleaned up a bit, as many cables as possible behind the mb tray. And I turned the cooler, much greater looks And I covered the rest of the MB tray with noisecontrol. Here's the com cable sticking out in the back behind the door Time for some stealthing Fasten dubblesided tape on the floppydrive and attach under the 3.5 drive bay. Overview To get a cleaner look I also decided to hide the rheobus behind the slot instead of in it, but I'll see if I will put it back later maybe, just have to try
Nice work Glad you took my tip on turning the Jet. Did it to my Aero and it works a treat. What are you planning to do with the side panel?
Great Idea!!!! I never thought of putting the floppy inside the case like that...I wasn't even gonna have one. Thank You!!! PS I just started getting into the whole modding thing, I know this trick has probibly been out forever and a day! But, It's new to me!
