The case looks good, and the modding is coming along nicely, especially like the aquatube A suggestion though, I'd seriously cut down the amount of the HDDs, cause making a neat wiring for 8 HDDs, that's not going to happen unless you have some tricks up your sleeve (which I'd love to see ). Also, scrap the retro from the name and make it a full blown Lian Li mod, that's always nice to see. I'll be following this one. Janne P.S. Those are some ugly duckling fans you got there, lol.
rowin4kicks I mentioned the hd sizes at first 6x80Gb and 2x160Gb, setup as: C:\ = 4x80Gb in raid 0 Windoze d:\ = 2x160Gb in Raid 1 Dcuments and pictures e:\ = gamepatches and Norton Ghost backupfiles I just wanted some cheap storage and speed and the setup function pretty well Well Darkened I actually have some thought on how to hide the sata wiring, the power is already pretty need, but the data cables needs a bit more attention, but I thinks I have the solution you'll see soon JCBeastie yes I like the fans look, except the colour, I wanted the AeroCool Turbine 2000 http://www.itbutikken.dk/i/153925/1.htm But they were not in stock, so I chose the Noctura. Okay, looking forward to seeing how you tackle that nest of wires Btw, have you thought about doing your Windows drive Raid 0+1 instead of just 0? How about that E: drive, I'm guessing that it's Raid 1 with two 80Gb drives? Mod on bro! Janne P.S. Also glad you changed the name
Time for an update Afte er long period with no time for casemodding, I recently had some time to continiue the mod. There are a lot of things still needing to be done: * Wiring needs to be cleaned up some more * Aluminum tunnel for the sata cables needs to be done * GPU and Chip cooler blocks needs to be made * Volt regulator cooler needs to be installed * side window to replace the alu mesh. The work: 1 step, I found the CPU waterblock from earlier in this article. I made the block for my P3 Presscott2800@3400. I started by cutting of the mounting arms used on the Presscott. The I soldered of the bottom, becourse I had a theory that the block was dirty. Oh boy was I right: After a good cleaning, the block was ready for getting a new bottom soldered on. The new 2mm bottom soldered back on. My new tool that replaced the stove, my weed burner that roxx I have replaced the fronts middle section with a black aluminums mesh, and painted the bayfronts black. The reservoir mount also got a spray of black, I like the new look myself. The alu. mesh on the side panel I plan to replace with one big plexi window. The bottom plate for the "Volt regulators" waterblock. I choose a simple, small channel design for cooling the volt regulators. I made a aluminum mount for the the CPU block for easy mounting. And I'm actually quite pleased with the result. The reservoir. The LaingD4 pushes the water through so fast, that it actually hits the top of the reservoir. Also it foams up the water, butt with more block mouted and water speed slowed, the air should bleed out. The "Volt regulator" block ready for mounting. Closeup of the front, you can see the pump. A sideshot of the case, disregard the wirring. More is on the way. ZeroHerO
Well, as mentioned earlier, 8 disks. 4 disks in raid0 for the OS 2 disks in raid1 for pictures and docs 2 disks in raid0 for videorendering
