Just took apart an old useless cellphone... Inbetween the lighting element and the back of the lcd were a couple of layers of different films which I believe are diffusers, some of them though create very weird and distorting effects when you hold them up to your eye and look through... Anyone have any ideas? A few of them seem to be pure diffusers almost the same as parchment paper, but some of them are really strange.
I should have known better than to post before looking into it better. I found out what they are: link Anyone with a broken cell phone, take it apart and see if this system is in use on your phone, the two light managment layers create some really trippy effects when you look through them closely.
1. Yes, i have seen things like that. The polarised plastic foils in LCD displays are cool too, especially the ones that polarise differently depending on wich one is ontop of wich. 2. Did you just smoke something? 3. Will your next thread be about how cool your hands look?
I doubt that's what my next post will be about. I wish i could take a picture of this effect, but I can't
