Do you guys view these threads in Linear mode or Threaded mode (or Hybrid)? I just recently discovered the latter two options and they don't seem very appealing to me.

I'm curious to see if a lot of people use Threaded mode or not.

Linear here, tried the other ones and they just didn't seem to make much sense.

    Welcome to the forums. :)

I agree with Nath - threaded mode just seems stupid to me imho. Don't know what everyone else thinks.

Linear. I can never seem to make sense of the others.

If everyone would nicely reply in the correct way (to the correct post and stuff), Threaded would be my favourite...

But since that doesn't happen that often, Linear it is ;)

    Welcome to Bit BTW!

Linear. I guess threaded could work in theory, but as Glider says no-one posts correctly for threaded posts to work. Most threads are generally short enough in forums that linear is fine anyway.

Likewise. I've only ever had luck with threaded on sites like slashdot.

I never realised there were other options, but I tried threaded, and it didn't make sense.

I didn't know we had a choice, but now that I've seen it it'll definately be linear. The way threading has been implemented here stinks.

I'm actually quite annoyed by /. and other sites that use the threaded mode.
I much prefer the Bit way of leaving it linear.

A thread to me is a long discussion, not a series of replies to individual posts.

Threaded mode when done correctly (like on /.) is amazingly better, especially for long discussion.

I'm assuming that threaded mode groups posts together into one thread when someone clicks on the 'quick reply' or 'quote' buttons on another post, which causes problems when people assume that QR is simply a way of jumping down to the button of the page?

Well thats why you quote people. Then others know what you are replying to. :thumb:
    So I prefer linear.

It's like with most things. Threaded is far superior, but people (including me) just can't be bothered to do it properly...
