hey i purchased my local magazine 'Rocksound' today and there happened to be an article featuring one of my fav bandz Linkin Park. The article was about the pressure they feel that their new album 'Meteora' that is due to be released March 24th will not sell as well as their debut album 'Hybrid Theory'.

Just wanted to get everyone's thoughts and opinions on the band, band members, their music...ect ect

    LP KICK ASS!

    [Edit]

They revealed a few names of some of the new songs to be on their new album, these include:
    Don't say
Somewhere i belong [the 1st video directed by Joe Hahn]
    Breaking the habbit
    session
Soundz pretty good...ill definately be buying this album!

Also if u r wondering wot the word 'Meteora' means, its named after a Greek Rock Formation.

Also in the album u get to listen to things like, japanese influenced styles, acoustic guitars, a 10 piece orchestra, and vocalist and classically trained Mike Shinoda play the piano.

    Cool or wot?!

hehe, just saw this thread after my post in late music thread jobbie....

seems to me that meteora isn't going to be as good as hybrid theory... I just adore that album :)... having said that I've only heard the one track, somewhere I belong, and while it's good no doubt about it, it doesn't quite grab me as most of the tracks on HT did.

Hopefully it's just a weak track tho...... altho having said that (again, lol.... I seem to be going back on myself a lot :D) loads of people will like it :).

I guess I can't really judge the album on one track tho, I'll definately be buying meteora :)

im not sure wot record label it is gonna be, but i know the album is being produced by Don Gilmore.

As Chester said in the interview..."At least we will sell 6 copies, as there is 6 of us in the band". Nah...it should be a good seller i reckon.

    Im definately buying!

i Have to say from what i've heard from this album, its great. I thought they were gonna make the same old stuff again and just burn out, but this album is certainly fresh and as usuall, carries a real message.

No - I meant what the record label will record (the verb).

The last one they recorded was pretty average to say the least.

I can't say that I've ever really been impressed with Linkin Park. Their songs are fairly catchy in that hokey way, but can anyone tell the songs apart?

A few of the songs on the last album was a bit samey, but then that's true of songs on most albums.

I wanna see what it's like before i go and diss it.

I meant to point this out a few days back - Rock Sound is a national magazine. Despite it's rather crass attitude toward spelling and punctuation, it's one of the less biased of the rock mags about.

Kinda like a grown up 'zine.

Agreed. Although, don't get me started on stuff like Metal Hammer and Kerrang. Poor excuses for journalism that they are.

Back in the day (about 4 years ago) Kerrap! was probably the easiest way to get half decent gig listings.

I also formed part of the Rock Week(R).

Monday night: Superrock on MTV (later superceded by Brand:New...curses upon Zane Lowe. CURSES!!!!)
Tuesday night: Rock Show on BBC Radio1 (back when MAH was just mildly irritating.)
Wednesday: Kerrang! gig listings and Continuum
    Thursday: Chill
Fri/Sat/Sun: Cuba Cuba, gig or chill.

Lyrics leaked from a source I trust. (Who shall remain anonymous to protect his job):

    Dunno which song it is.

Strange fear I ain't felt for years
The girl's coming and I'm close to tears
I can't let go of you now

    Imagination's playing round for free
In my world I take her out for tea
Oh my God, can't say no

Skipping school, go walk for air
I just had to get out of bed
I'm on overload in my head

Time comes, I don't know my destination
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation
Time comes, I don't know our destination
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation

Life is a dream, time does come true
And in my sleep I think of you
    Feather bed by myself

    Basically probability
Says that fate's come side with me
It's been so long on my shelf

Time comes, I don't know my destination
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation
Time comes, I don't know our destination
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation

The tension is incredible, girl I'm in charge
You know how I feel for you,
Will you stop, or will you just keep going
Please don't say no, no, no, no

Time comes, I don't know my destination
    (Yeah yeah yeah)
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation
    (Situation)
Time comes, I don't know our destination
    (I know, I know)
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation
    (Situation)

Time comes I don't know my destination
    (Our secret's safe in bed)
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation
    (Situation)
Time comes I don't know our destination
    (I know, I know)
    It's a one-way ticket to a madman's situation
    (Got me feeling bad)
