w00t! now redhat+kde runs like crap on the pos. So that was useless. And it's impossible for me to d/l gentoo w/o it being corrupt! :wallbash:

btw, I don't suppose there's a way to nix what's been written on a cd so that data written half-way down looks like it's at the beginning of the cd? (with just cd-r)

If the CD hasn't been finalized you should be able to add more to it. I believe. Not to sure, but hey, could try anyways.

    Posting from the laptop now.
Too bad it's still slower than a snail trying to swim through 3' of molases and konqueror looks like this:

Hahah, remember when I d/led the new kernel so I could recompile? Yes, aparently it didn't d/l properly... Couldn't do xconfig. Tried config... think I missed a couple things. Everything was dandy last night... this morning X won't start :duh:

Oh yeah, and my gentoo CDs are dandy. I'm updating it on my main rig right now (which was aparently a mistake since it's been working on "emerge -u system" for almost 2 hours :grr: The information says "this may take a while" it should say "This will take a LONG time."
    :sigh:

Edit: 6 hours later I have gentoo "running" on this machine... cept it's having network issues... which is a slight problem...
    :sigh:

Ah well, I did learn a lot in the process...

Nah, just gonna have to reinstall on the laptop I think. I need to slim down the install as much as possible, which means taking more time than I'd like, but meh. I mostly installed gentoo to see if the disk worked. So now I'm just wishing I knew why it doesn't work on the laptop... ah well.

And everything looks dandy in ifconfig, just doesn't work in real life
