msn - Many Linux native clients, I use aMSN which supports some of the more recent features like webcams and nudges. xfire - Gfire is a plugin for GAIM which give xfire support. I've never used it or Xfire so can't vouch for its stability or usefulness. skype & limewire - Linux native versions available bf2 bf2142 bfme2 bfme max payne well basicly surport for most games Cedega is usually best for games, but its not free (~£4 a month) The Cedega games database will say what level of support each game has. Otherwise try WINE as suggested by DMAthlon, which is free.
Gaming support can be done with older games, but stuff like 2142....well...i'll belive it can be done when i see it with my own eyes... However there are some great alternitives to your day to day utilities, so if you goto linux and see something similar to a windows app, then give it a crack
This page might help. It's for Ubuntu Linux, but should apply no matter which Linux you go for. Windows equivalents in Linux
Dude as far as i know you have NEVER been LEGALLY allowed to put any version on more then 1 pc since 95 Linux has multiple im tools that support multiple systems at the same time Yahoo+msn at the same time. Try using google max payne may have a linux client and the others could be being hacked.
BjD is correct (like most people in this thread) If you compile Cedega from CVS/SVN, you can get it for free...
IIRC you can put XP on two computers if you buy another licence (well, probably two but we shan't get into that). You may have found through the extensive searching you did prior to posting this thread that linux isn't the best operating system to run if you wish to game, and as such most people who want both (linux and gaming) tend to dual boot. As others have said you may get some of these games to work using cedega, but they'll generally run slower than on a windows machine, and most other tasks there are linux equivalents to the programs you're used to. Hotdogs need onions.
