Modding Lit acrylic

    Okay, this is possibly in the wrong section, but hey.

    I know you've all seen the Doom 3 case, with the lit engraving, and a million others like it.

    However, if you have two different depths of engraving, can you light it in multiple colours?

    Can you light an engraving with multiple colours anyway?

    I have a two colour design, and it would be simple enough to light the two colours, but how much 'bleeding' would there be?

    I'd be looking at red and white LED's, would one wash the colour out comletely, or would it just look like the red was seeping into the white in some areas (which would actually be acceptable, and pretty cool, given the logo)?

    If you have two diffent layers of acrylic it would be easy to do with side lighting. There wouldn't be any bleeding inbetween the two layers.

    Yes although you might want to make the engravement quite deep on both sides so that they don't pick up too much bled light.

    Hm, thanks for the advice chaps, I'll have to see how much working space I've got :D

    And holy ****, that door looks fantastic! I wasn't expecting it to show that well! Damn. Thanks for the link, Xtrafresh.

    This gives me an idea for a mod and/or even a wall decoration. Will this work with tinted acrylic?
