Hey, at least it's not Bo Selecta. :D

Little Britain is mostly a study of stereotypes and stereotypical behaviour that we all recognise as typically "British". Whether it is Vicky Pollard, the oh so painfully familiar depiction of a typical 16 year-old chavette, or Daffid, the "only gay in the village" attention-junkie. It takes the mickey out of English stiff-upper-lipness, and those quirky social behaviour patterns that you observe everywhere. There are also some good piss-takes on co-dependency, political correctness, and certain socio-cultural values and behaviours.

A lot of it is repetitive, but there is a comforting familiarity about that. The situations differ, but they are not important; the characters are. You recognise how the stereotypes are going to (stereotypically) behave in the situation, you recognise how this reflects what you observe in daily life. And in this recognition lies the fun.

No, that's why it isn't funny. I'll admit, I laughed at most of the sketches the first time, but they just don't have any new jokes, and that's just tedious. I know *exactly* what'll happen every single week. That's not comedy, that's just boring.

Oh, but it's better than that Catherine Tate woman. She's about as funny as cancer. At least LB have jokes, even if they do just reuse the same 5 every week...

I liked the first series of Little Britain, and the second one was okay...but they kinda decided to ride their success by going over-the-top and I just don't find the new characters, and some of the old ones, funny anymore.
