    Hi all....

    After a long haul building my current rig, first foray into watercooling I have put my efforts back into re vitalising my folding server.....

    So 2 GTX 275 co ops were ordered today and they should be put to work tommorow.....

    Hoping to unlock the second core on a sempron 140 to drive them.....

    Im a bit out of the loop folding wise, will be using win 7 32bit.... Can i use the CPU to fold as well or should I leave it "idle" to manage the GPU folding?

    welcome back if you remember your post count on the Old CPC forums they will restore the count back

    you can run 2 standard CPU clients if you unlock the cores (one 1 client if you can't), just make sure they are set to Idle and the GPU is set to Low so the CPU clients do not interfere with the GPUS

    So i cant SMP?

    Was hoping to OC to circa 3.4 - 3.6ghz...

    if you can get it to 3GHz + then SMP A3 should be doable i get 3500 PPD on my Phenoms @ 2.5Ghz and the Althlon II X4 @ 2.6 got around 2500 PPD or less, i would expect 1000 or on an dual core CPU if clocked quite high

    Also anyone got a link to the ppd charts and power consumption etc etc... Many thanks in advance, need to catch up on this and sort out my sig as well..

    OK the 140 wouldnt unlock on my DFI, going to try a 550 later today.....

    LOL Ok

    Well ive already got a prob, configured up the hybrids np....

    SMP is failing with a file IO error - no OC applied or unlocked cores as yet... Any ideas?

    make sure you install the WinSMP to c:\fold\SMP or like that not c:\program files

    OK changed mem as found someone with similar probs - had ballistix tracer in... Seemed to be working fine for all things but this obviously pushs it too far......

    So its screaming away now, 4 GPU;s going

    550 BE unlocked to be a 3.2 720 :)

    AND got my atom server folding on its ION...

    So we shall see what happens now points wise....

    Got to say the hybrid cards are like mini fan heaters! lol

    throwing out some serious heat..... Think I may leave them on the test bench as open air cooling will probably suit I think.....

    OK another QQ, I thought you got around 1700 points for an SMP unit... Im looking at more like 700 - have they dropped the points in this area?

    They introduced a bonus scheme for the A3 SMP work units. The faster you finish them. the more points you get.

    You'll need to signup for a passkey and do 10 of them before you see a bonus though
