    Hi all,

I'm new to this forum that seems to be quite good.

My Soundblaster Live! has a problem. There is no audio coming from the front left channel. Front right is ok and back channels as well.

The output connector is okay, speakers are okay too. The problem is not (or seems not to be) on the computer side. I have checked drives, pci connectors, etc.

So, the problem is isolated and related to the CT4620 electronics.

What I need is to id the output components from the line output connector back to the output amp.

I have asked Creative for help on this matter and all they gave was this stupid response:

So my question is, where could I find information, a picture or description, of the CT4620's audio output components in order to staticaly check them and hopefully find and replace a discrete faulty part.

    Thanks.

i dont mean to be rude, but by the time you've found out which part is faulty, sourced one, and fitted it, you could have found a cheap audigy somewhere. then again, my soldering is crap.

Not if the guilty part is a 5 cents capacitor or resistor. I do no pretend to go deeper into a zillion pins IC.

ok, if sit down for 1/2 hour with a good light source and magnifier and look at the card physically for defects, broken tracks, damaged/brown components etc... start with the output jack itself. good luck
