Live Free or Die Hard

I just saw this movie. Wow, what a great guy movie. Two hours of exploding sh- and shooting everywhere.

I think it would be interesting to find out what kind of themes and stuff the computers are running in that movie, the fake hacker look is kind of funny.

It also inspired me to think about making a new mod, the computer gear in that movie is pretty interesting and cool to look at. I like the part where the windowed hard drives show up. That's one of my favorite mods.

The trailers have caught my attention. Not sure if I'm keen on seeing a #4 after how much I enjoyed With a Vengence.

 

We're off to watch it Saturday, got friday night to re-watch 1-3 in a marathon session

 

computer interfaces in movies are invariably knockups made in flash or just some fancy graphics demos, purely to look good with no regard given to functionality.

oh, and, i wanna see this movie too

 

Anyone seen the clip where he takes on a F22 Raptor in NY? he survived the most unimaginable action scene but it did looks sweet and im looking forward to this moveh.

 

Ordinarily I'd say it looks crap but this actually looks pretty good, might go see it one day.

 

From the trailers it looks a bit too OTT to me, yeah Die Hard was about action, but he was a NY cop in the wrong place at the wrong time, not a super agent. Not gonna stop me seeing it though.

 

The scene with the fighter jet was insane, he ends up on top of the fighter jet while the pilot has already ejected, and somehow he survives. I'll try not to give too much of the scene away, but the entire movie is so ridiculous like that. I enjoyed it not because of the reality but because of the ridiculous amounts of action and the comedy (both from jokes and from the OTT action).

 

can anybody confirm if this has been put back to the 6th ? We want a midnight screening but not sure if we can get it atm as the cinema websites all say it came out yesterday...

In other news this film is going ot be great - theres very little cg too, they got a helicopter - and they got a fast car, mixed the car with a ramp AND THEN CRASHED THEM! LOL!

 

Previews were last night and tongiht, full release is tomorrow.

 

Bunch of bit-tech staff are up for seeing it this week too

Sorry to kill the mood, but Transformers for me this weekend.

 

Most UI's in films are just animations. I wouldn't be surprised if they were done in flash or something and just some simple AS to pick up keystrokes. Regardless of what is entered the words UPLOAD VIRUS appear. I did like the way some of the windows kind of shifted out of the way when others opened. Nice touch. Not really that practical though

Looks interesting but cant beat the first one for me, want to see transformers as well. I was a little sceptical about how good the latter would be but the trailers have me sold.

Great fun, superb action scenes. Bruce Willis is God....

Yes it might be good ( I want to go and see it), but I doubt it will be as good as the original Die Hard. You can't get any better than having Alan Rickman as a bad guy....
