AOL | Time Warner is the latest big company under Federal investigation after the spate of recent financial scandals.

It's share price has now plumeted to a fifth of what it was at it's peak in recent years.

I thought aol was so easy, and that is why it is number 1 though.. right?
I mean, all you have to do is install a large amount of software, configure it for your username, type in your username and password, connect to aol, pass the advertisements, allow the menu, browser, IM, and homepage to load, then just go from there!
That is so much easier than clicking the internet explorer icon and letting it dial for you, and going straight to the web...

btw I HATE aol (aol does not deserve to have their letters capitalized)

You missed out the "giving them your credit card number to do anything they want with" step.

The sad thing is, it is successful and will keep being so, simply because they spam it out to people who don't know any better.

And then of course, this is their main point of contact with computers. So they go away thinking anything to with computers is slow, glitchy and unreliable.

And of course, if this was a company selling shall we say 'specialist merchadise' they'd be facing possible legal action if they used the same so called 'marketing' procedure.

But AOL gets away with it, cos they're a big, wholesome family company.

Yeah, they're a big something alright.

I think I'll go ahead with a little scheme, and contact AOL, stating everytime they, or one of their 'trusted affiliates' contacts me, they're giving me permission to tell people about AOL, and charge them £500. ;)

    Bite your tounge (fingers?) Alaric!
    Those are not junk CDs!!
3 seconds in the microwave and you've got a pretty l337 looking coaster!
(wash the remaining scrapps off so your hot coffee cup doesn't melt to it, or melt it to your desk!)

Oh, and use someone else's microwave, as I do not know if this will damage the microwave. (sparks pretty nicely though, and smells a little funny... remember only 3 seconds)

(hint to those living in dorms: Do this!)

it does actually damage the microwave but only the same as leaving a bit of tin foil on the bottom of something, not much so you could doo 100's of the aol cd's in a microwave & not hit any problems & if you do, the matsui ones currys sells dirt cheap are absoloutely fantastic

then agian ever student should have that lg that is a grill microwave & has a toster bolted on it, microwave & grill to re-heat leftovers & the toaster for when you dont have money for propper food, just add a coffee machine & your sorted

/me no longer student but me wants that for my room, add a littel fridge & iwould barely have to leave, add a lass & i would never want to leave  sorry couldent resist that joke

The funniest AOL users are the "l33t" ones that come on irc using a dial up and start flooding chans, thats just too damn amusing.
