Im currently using some Creative Speakers, and im seriously looking into the Logitech® Z-5500 Digital, just wondering if its worth the change, ive had a demo already, and i am inpressed with the sound and quality, just wanted some bit-tech advise on these.

Not sure how similar they are, but I have the Z-5400's and they are pretty darned good. I've yet to get my desk/room set up to take full advantage of 5.1 but even with them fairly crowded together, they pack a punch.

The Z-5500's have been out for absolutely ages now, but IMO... other than a dedicated [separates] sound system... there's still very little out there to match - never mind better them

So I reckon you should splash out :D

I absolutely love mine. I think the only way I'd like them more is if the control pod's LCD was able to do a track readout for whatever's playing (whatever idiot left that out of the spdif spec needs to be shot). Sure, they're not hi-fi, but you won't get much closer as long as you stick with PC-oriented speakers, and certainly not for the price.

Just for reference on power... my roommate has one of those car sub testing tracks that's just uber-bass. At half-volume with flat EQ, someone quite a ways outside our dorm was sure there was a car going by blasting it. And I'm on the third floor :) I've never even taken them above half volume because it's loud to the point where I'm concerned about hearing loss. But more importantly, their sound quality is excellent from quiet right through the point where you go deaf.

My Creative Megaworks 510D's recently went pop forcing me to buy new speakers, and as i fancied something with digital in i went for the Logitech 5500's. Have to say though i'm not as impressed with the sound quality. If you don't need the digital in then i'd suggest some of the Creative gigaworks or megaworks which can be had for around the same money.

The mid's were slightly more defined and there was somehow more punch at lower volumes. And as firehed said the Logitech's have way more power than you could ever legally use within half a mile of another person!

Note: This is my opinion based on about 3 weeks of listening to the Logitech's The Megaworks were about 3 years old so maybe they'd had more time to "settle in" and thats why they sound better.

Just to say, the gigaworks dont have digital in, and they a) sound amazing b) break! :( im on my second set after an RMA and it too has also broken, awaiting a new sub from creative.
