    Amazon Logitech Z553
I'm looking for a good pair of PC speakers, any thoughts on the above Logitech Z553?

Wouldn't be considering them if it weren't Amazons deal of the week promo for £60, had it reduced to £55 with Flubit.com, but the clocks is counting 18 hours left.

for that price you should be able to get the little brother of the crossair 2.1 set that was reviewed here. Can some one drop in and give the model number I can't remember.

The SP2500? I tried them, they suck. Hiss sound is audible at all times. Plugged to the PC or not. I already exchanged them, same problem.

Fair news, never used them myself but got a lot of love here on the forums. I used to use logitech a lot but not I go used HiFi parts. Either way I tend to stick with speakers that look like standard speakers in the hope that less money was wasted on design.

I you don't mind 2.0 there are some pretty decent sets I think, Overclockers have some edifiers which are meant to be pretty good:

They're on offer at the moment as well which is nice.
I've personally got some Microlab Solo6Cs which I'm very happy with, and I think a couple of other members are as well.

Microlabs sound great for the money. If you don't have any space T20s. For no compromises hook the rig up to an amp and use some proper speakers.

Cheap 2.1 and 5.1 sets suffer from hissing, muddy bass and rarely hit low frequencies accurately, which sort of negates the sub. The T6060s I'm using at the moment are, frankly, crap. I wear headphones 95% of the time though so normally only switch the speakers on for a round of Teletubbies (when I'm in the mood).

    Yup. :/
As much I wanted them to like them, that was a shame. I looked on the web, and only mods were suggested to do on the amp circuit. Apparently, it's picky on the wall power connection. I don't really get it, but that what it was suggested. I tried one of those Monster power stripe which is suppose to "clean" the current (I got it for free, when I worked as retail store, one of my early summer jobs, when the Monster representative came to sale his pitch to us, on how Monster stuff are amazing), anyway.. didn't do a difference.

Just logged in awesome response from all, Have decided against the Logitech Z553, feel free to talk amongst yourselves :)
Thanks GeorgeStorm for the link, will look into the Edifier R1600T Studio Plus 2.0 Monitors.
Have read many reviews on the Logitech Z553, although they where overwhelmingly positive, cool aesthetics aside they're not recommended for pass heads like myself, sound quality is good they're not on par with Harman Kardon Soundsticks III which can be had for around £70 or under when on sale, if you're looking for small space saving speakers with clear crisp sound at an affordable price range you could do a lot worse.
