I was in a similar situation to you a while back. I needed a new keyboard and decided to go for a mechanical. I initially had a budget of £75.

I tried the ones at Scan and a couple of others that a friend has. After reading around different forums I decided that if I was going to get one, I might as well wait and go for a fully monty one. I saved up and without trying one, ordered a Filco Majestouch NKR with cherry blacks (link).

I have to say that it's one hell of a keyboard and well worth the extra. Is it twice the keyboard of the one you are looking at? No, but it is so much better that I find the extra cost is worth it.

If you can wait and save up, I really would, the Filco's are a class above.

Only the keys you rarely use aren't mech, so in my opinion is hardly matters... I love my K60...

Damn it more people, giving me more options. :D

So when I go to Scan on Saturday, I'll try the Qpad 50, Storm Rapid and K60 again- because I loved it last time. It uses blues doesn't it?

I've been using the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate for a while now and can't fault it. Not cheap though.

K60 uses reds as far as I'm aware, should have felt completely different to the razer board.

And for the price, I would say there are far better alternatives, they shouldn't need to cheap out on some of the switches.

Didn't like the casing, and compared to the Corsair boards, it just felt awful to me.

I do like the corsair but £120 for a board that isn't fully mech?

    No thanks.

Even at that price, as I said earlier, there are full mech boards I would recommend instead.

Ohh ok I had the price wrong in my mind. Not a bad price for a board but I'm not sure that I could enjoy typing on reds, it is the only MX standard switch that I haven't yet tried.

Yeah, I did love the feel of the board actually. Rubber capped keys were something I preferred actually. But still, there are better options for the money. I think I'm just going to go with the CM Storm Rapid to be honest, but I'll have a look at the Qpad 50 and compare reds to blacks under my fingers.
