Electronics Looking for 8x2 HD44780 display with backlight

    Hi people

    I've made a fan speed controller for myself that may appear here in a bit, but at the moment I'm using it with a 20x4 LCD when it only need be 8x2. There are loads of them on ebay for a couple of quid, but they don't have backlights. Does anyone know of a good alternative that isn't going to cost me £20?

    Thanks for the suggestion, but there's not enough room to use LEDs I'm afraid. (Also, it's not "led's". There's no apostrophe in plurals.)

    I know Crystalfontz sell them, but for *far* too much.

    Coof up for a comerical unit as there much nicer but according to the interwebnet its not that hard to backlight.
