    Hi

i'm going to be building a fileserver machine, and was wondering where to get a nice, small case from. cheap.

Basically i've outruled shuttle for the price, and it's a little too small, i need to fit 2 HDD's in, a optical drive (prolly just a CD-ROM), and a micro ATX mobo in, and it has to be a tower....any suggestions?

I'd stay away from OcUK, they're the poorest shop in the UK for service. Many, many people across the web have been screwed over by that company. I've had a few bad experiences with them myself, but thankfully never lost money to 'em.

There are plenty of alternatives, seriously consider those before going with overclockers. A prime example is Scan.co.uk, great prices, great service, great delivery(for me at least).

Why buy a case? Just find some motherboard supports (like a plank of wood) and just leave it there, I did it myself, perfectly safe.

"yo dude, u can try www.kustompcs.co.uk, based on scotland, unlike newegg which r in da states"

I don't suppose you could try typing your post in English?

Hey that asus case looks pretty good, seems to be just right to fit in the space it needs to go in too :D. Also not that much money forthe case and a 939 motherboard...

...i think we have a winner, unless anyone can suggest better.

as for the plank of wood idea, i'd love to do that, but still living at my rents house, and they would go berserk with all the exposed wiring ETC. also the Asus thing has a mobo, and a good price to boot :D

Any more suggestions, or am i done looking?

Try a Antec Sonata. Small, quiet and plenty of space for a load of hard drives. :)

Antec SLK3000B £30 at OCUK, but I wouldn't buy it from there.
small-ish, cheap, 120mm fan mounts. cant complain :thumb: ... hopefully.

The antec looks very impressive, just one problem....it's a inch or 2 too tall :waah: This case has to be tiny. So far i've been thinking seriously about the asus, looks very tempting, specially with a 939 motherboard built in for a low price (OCuk though :sigh: ) And the best bit is,the asus will fit into the space :D

Any more ideas, before i put my money where my mouth is?

yo dude, sam here again, get the asus, OCUK are reliable, i spent £400 and no problems with them, very reliable, i no i no, you dont like City Link, but you cant have everything, if you want i can purchase this case for you, and just prove to those who dont like OCUK at just how safe and reliable they realy are.

Dude, you're going on a single personal experience. I'm sorry but it means very little. Those who've had problems, and there are plenty of them, have had plenty of troubles with OcUK. Make a quick thread about it if you don't believe me, ask about whether OcUK are any good in almost any UK forum and while a couple of peolpe will say they're good, a lot will tell you they're terrible. They are neither safe nor reliable, and if you had no issues that is down to luck, nothing else.

I agree entirely with specofdust. I used to order from them for quite a while with no problems, but then they cocked a few things up and I was seriously put off. There's been some threads on this forum about ocuk service too. You can't judge a company from one order, it's long-term quality service that counts. This is the reason people reccomend Scan.
