    Hi,

I am new to the forums and all the pc upgrading and building thing. I am a web developer and would like to be able to know how to build a computer. First off I need to pick the case and I understand that Ideally I want an ATX case instead of microATX. I have looked at the following cases but I am not sure which one to go with

    Coolermster ATCS 840 Aluminum Chassis

Cooler Master CM Stacker 830 Review

NZXT Apollo Black SECC Steel Chassis

    Antec Twelve Hundred

    Cooler Master Cosmos S

I was leaning to the cooler master s until I read the review and the rating and saw that cpc only gave it a 60% where the antec 1200 scored an 89%, before that review I had read loads that really raved about the cooler master. I definatly want a case that in the future I can water cool (or attempt to) and the comment at the bottom of the antec 1200 review is putting me off it slightly "Unless you're planning on water-cooling your PC, we can think of no better case to buy than the Twelve Hundred."

But then again it will probably be a year plus before I even attempt to water cool it so I am thinking my best value for money would be the antec 1200? Then just change the case if and when I water cool it.

Cosmos S is my pick out of that bunch, if you're looking to watercool in the future.

+1 its been around since 2007 and its still stunning,

It's stylish, It cools well and its huge and will support anything the future can throw at it (hotter parts, larger graphics cards etc...) I can't understand CPCs Low score for it? Do you have a link

I think the price knocked the overall score down

Ahh, I see now, they reviewed it when it was £170 and it can now be picked up for £150 or less, they said the air cooling was bad but that's truly the first time I've heard that about it, also, its huge so you should either watercool or plan to watercool when buying it so...

OR you could fill all the 120mm fan mounts and I think there are 5/6 of them or something like that

Ive got a cosmos s and its awesome if i remember correctly theres space for 5 120mm fans, 3 in the top, 1 in the bottom behind the HD cage and 1 infront of the HD cage? I think thats right cant be bothered to go upstairs and check. There might be space for 1 at the back of the case aswell and dont forget the massive fan on the case side aswell.

Ive had no heat issues, Theres loads of room and cable routings not to bad either best case ive ever bought.

My only gripe is the touch sensitive power button, on more than 1 occasion ive switched the comp on by accident:duh:, and the glossy black plastics they're fingerprint and dust magnets:sigh:

as your new to building pc's i'd recommend the twelve hundred. i got mine a year ago to last me my next few builds and numerous upgrades. it's a pleasure to work with, plenty of room and it very cable tidy friendly. only things to watch on it are using loud cpu / gpu coolers as the case is quite 'open' so i would recommend getting quiet aftermarket versions, the case will help keep them cool so no need for anything to fancy.

and you could quite easily get water cooling in it, it's huge. and the excellent cooling means everything that isn't water cooled will still say cool.
