I came accross a guide somewhere on the net that was pretty detailed on replacing LED's in ...I think a logitech 510 or 700.

I dont actually want to replace the LED, I just want to add a series of LED's.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of a guide.

    Thanks

Simpler than that. Open up your mouse. Find the controler. Locate its model number and type that into google. Get its data sheet and look up the pinouts. Find the +5v and the ground. Those are your solder points for your leds. Just calculate a resistor for the number of leds and your set. Hope that helped.

Could you tell me what the controller looks like?
Or can you see from the pic above?

    Thanks

    Rimmer,
A quicker way to find the 5V and ground would be to refer to the rechargable battery. I'm guessing it is the one on the bottom right of the picture, with two wires red and yellow.Use a multimeter to find out which is +ve and which is ground (I'm guessing that the red is +ve and yellow is ground, but it's just a guess).
The battery plugs into a connector on the board, so you would be able to tell which pin of the connector is +ve and ground. then tap the supply from the bottom side of the connector.

    Hope this helps.

I was thinking about replacing the led in my mx700, but not adding more. I'd not recharge my mouse more often. Have you thought about switching out the battery status leds?
