Right i`ve done a search but cant seem to find a thread about The best PSU out at the moment. At the moment I'm looking at the tagan 480, Thermaltake Silent Purepower 680W. The budget is about 100 quid although as always seems to be tha case the budget is not rigid and will prolly double What do people suggest. BTW i`m in the UK so will be using uk shops My system at the moment is asus a8n sli deluxe, winchester 3200, ati x800t, 2 200gb maxtor serial ata, 120 gb wd caviar, 80 gb seagate 5, pinoneer dvd rom, pioneer dual layer dvd rw.
*Drags thread remotely on topic* Try looking at the OCZ powerstream 520W. In my oppionoon it's the Dogs Nadgers. Same internals as the Tagan, with more juice. 33A on the 12V and all the power lines you will ever need.
Because it was the only nforce 4 mobo available at the time maybe? The ocz eh? i`ll give it a look in a bit.
ive gotta say the ocz power supplies are great. prefer mine loads to my old enermax one. i have the 520w powerstream and i cant fault it. highly recommended. they now do a 600w version
but alot of people dont even need/use sli i think its a bit of a waste in performace but thats me... i think its just to look cool
The asus board is the mutts at the mom and has been the only one available anywhere in the uk. Card wise the x800xt is a lot better value that buying 2 nvidia cards imo
The A8N-SLI is a good board in it's own right! The only thing I will be reconsidering will be upgrading the Mobo chip cooler.... The SLI option is that - An option.......It is rock stable! unlike some of the other SLI boards out there. I have a Neopower 480 PSU very nice, Matt
Im gonna buy a zalman chipset cooler for the board because the stock fan is a whiner. Im leaning towards the ocz at the moment. Someone has suggested the fortron psu now. Any opinions on that one?
well i bought the ocz and it just arrived now It weighs loads!!! Very shiny as well gonna need to be mega careful when fitting it so as to not cover it in finger prints lol
ULTRA X-CONNECT all the way man. It's so reliable, definately the most eye appealing, and its modular. Everyone loves it!
