I have access to an old Apple Newton housing and I'd like to find a modern PDA to mod into it. The problem is, I'm having trouble finding any that have anything close to the 4.9 in. by 3.3 screen that the Messagepad 2100s use. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know I could scrounge the parts to build myself a newton and everyone I've talked to who has one raves over it but I want modern features like high color resolution screen and either palmOS or Windows Mobile and wifi. Thanks in advance!
I have an old Handspring visor on my shelf collecting dust. But maybe some other forum member has a old pocket pc (which I assume should fit your bill good as it will probably have wifi or the upgrade ability). Sounds like if you want to continue with this mod you should check online at ebay and see if there are any decent pocket pc's with a busted case. Oh and welcome to the forums!
Thanks. My main issue right now is trying to find what models have similar sized screens so I can make it look as stock as possible. I don't think I'm adept enough at electronics to try and engineer a seperate LCD touchscreen to a PDA. Thanks for the reply!
Check out some of the HP Jornada models. I had several for a long time. Now I have a Palm Lifedrive. I miss the Jornada
