I'm replacing the motherboard in my desktop due to regular lockups, sound issues, and poor SATA performance. The current motherboard is an ECS 761GX-M754.

I bought another ECS (I didn't learn my lesson with the first one), an RS428-M754, which showed up effectively DOA. It boots fine with the safe BIOS defaults, but if I change anything in the BIOS it will fail to boot. This is also the case if I boot into Windows, which adjusts the date and time and prevents the system from rebooting. If anyone can help me fix this problem, I'll be merrily on my way, but more likely I'm going to return the board for refund and purchase a new one. I'm probably not going to get a replacement of the same model; I'm willing to eat a restocking fee if it gets me away from ECS.

So, I'm looking for suggestions for the new board. I'm buying from www.newegg.com. It'll be holding a Mobile Sempron 3000+, a PCI-express 7600gs, a single stick of DDR400, and two SATA hard drives. Nothing fancy, and I'm not looking to overclock.

EDIT: I should point out that price isn't a huge issue since there aren't any expensive 754 boards these days. However, the less money the better.

    EDIT 2: I've just ordered this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813123255.
