I like it but I do have some weird taste. It looks similar to the Antec 900. As you can see from my project log which is a 1200 in black and orange. Depend at what price this will come in
Does the front have mount points for a 240 rad, like the H100? It would be nice if all cases that size supported 2x 240 rads so you could have one for CPU and one for GPU. With the newly arrived AIO GPU coolers there may be more demand for this now.
Don't mind the colour scheme, but its just another boxy case isn't it. Your competition is very innovative and you are being left behind.
Guess the type of feedback you get may also depend on its retail/marketed price, budget end, little things can be forgiven, mid-high range as Parge says, people look for the little niceties/innovation. Reminds me of my old 900, colour schemes different, going to have different colours? BTW, is that a little LED strip of sorts at the front along the top? If so, brightness might be a factor too.
I like the colour scheme. The top needs more orange to match the styling at the front. The top and front black colours seem to be mismatched. It looks ok to build in. It should be a lot better than the 900 which was a truly awful awful piece of kit. There are elements that are hard to determine though. Clearance for graphics cards. The clearance between the motherboard tray and the back panel. How easy it is to build in is key because other v than the paint there doesn't seem to be much to make it stand out from the crowd.
A cases looks are entirely subjective but orange and black and that gigantic foot at the front..... Meh it's not to my taste.
thats a really weird etching on the side in pic #1, why not just stick with a window ? other than that it does make an impact but it seems odd the back end is lower than the front even with an upside down psu mount - not much clearance underneath PSU (dust magnet/airflow ?) and highest point in the case is solid plastic and probably where dvd/bluray drive would be mounted. that front foot is odd. other than that, if mobo tray isn't removable and disk mounting slots don't feature any clever mounting or vibration reducing features i'm honestly not interested - no-one would want a case that big without it being quick and easy to work on when frequently tinkering and i'm sure anyone who'd just build once then rarely re-open the case could go for something smaller. i would hope that huge bundle of cables for top panel/fans can be hidden behind mobo tray or routed out the way too.
+1 too. Internals is where the efforts should concentrates. Too much space wasted, too common (even the color). I know that it's always risky to try something really innovative, but I'm borred with computers now. Performances are growing, but there's nothing really new.
Very quick 2 minutes sketch in Paint : You should end with a compact case capable of fitting a triple 120mm rad at the top. People do not need / use 5.25" bays anymore. Same with 3.5", with 1 SSD + 2x 3.5 in mirroring people won't need more than that. ps: the scale is approximate, it's just to give a layout idea. guess you could end up with a 350mm deep case (or even less) with only 2 fans at the top. An mATX version would be better be a reduced height. Edit: mATX with 2x 120 at the top and 2x 120 at the front. It could even fit a fan controller at the top
That's a rather sweeping statement, all five pc's in our house have an optical drive as we still have a use for them. You might need one anymore but plenty of people do still use them. Plus people use them for reservoirs and in my case a card reader. It's only got 3 from what I can see??
I'm with you on this. Lose the optical bays. Anyone who "MUST HAVE OPTICAL" can get an external drive (like me!) and the other 95% of people can benefit from better layout options.
Lack of rubber around the motherboard cable cut outs makes it look unfinished to me. Also the rubber gromets with the flaps do a good job of minimising the amount of cable on show. You dont mention the price point for the case either. But by going off the case as it looks, and not knowing much else about the features, I would have said it looks like it would be in the £40-£50 price range. I do like the color though
Seeing as the upper ones are much narrower than the lower ones I was presuming they were 2.5" ones for ssd's. I've had the dvd drives for ages but I am thinking of getting an external as my daughters drive has failed and been removed anyway. I'd still personally need a 5 1/4 bay for my card reader though. Having room for a radiator in the front being better is only better for people who plan on water cooling. Maybe the best option would be if they were removable and then it would suit more people. Buying a NAS is a nice idea and as much as I'd like one it's a little more expensive than buying a dvd drive. It's all irrelevant for me anyway as I wouldn't buy this case but saying things should be removed just because they don't suit everyone is a bit OTT.
Also the supplied fans look horrible. Clear molex connectors and non braided/sleeved wires. Nah! Yes you could swap out but why should you have to.
The exterior colour is nice. I like orange. I agree with Pookie though on the fans and connectors, black fan with orange blades, sleeved with black or orange molex/3 or 4pin pwm would be nicer. But it depends on the price. If it is a budget case then fair enough.
I would wager that all 5 pc could be serviced by one external which spends most of its time in a drawer. I still need an optical but if I was going again from scratch I wouldn't add one to the case.
