I am looking to buy a gaming headset for use on PS3, PC and also for music and movies. My budget is in the £40-80 range but I would take a lower priced headset if it is decent and would consider £100+ for somethign great. I don't need a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound headset but wouldn't mind one for gaming if it still has decent audio quality for movies etc. I would need a removable or movable mic. Priorities are comfort, sound quality, durability and things like surround sound are a minor thought. I would consider getting a seperate headset and over ear headphones if the audio quality will be much better on the headphones but wouldn't want to stretch much over £100 for both. Has anyone heard any good reviews or had any good experience with anything that would fit my description? any help appreciated. p.s. Wired headphones would be prefered as have had bad audio quality from wireless sets before.
Creative Sound Blaster Arena haven't tested whether it works via usb on the ps3 or not http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/peripherals/2010/01/03/the-best-gaming-headset/3
cheers, thanks for the link. I think it is unlikely that this works with PS3 as sites tend to advertise it as a feature from my experience and the 3 sites I checked didn't say anything about PS3 compatibility. Probably going to get these though based on that review.
i plugged them in via usb and they don't appear to work, but i've just been looking on the net and people saying they have got them to work, so i will mess with it later
http://www.turtlebeach.com/ make some good head phones. I got the X41 for my xbox 360, sound is amazing, you can hear people creeping up behind you. but the mic can not be used with the pc, unless with a wired xbox 360 controller. But the web site does offer other ones. But i can not comment on them, you would have to read the reviews. But i like the one's that someone else mentioned above. Anyway just thought i would throw the above link in.
Thanks a lot for trying. I will still be getting these probably as the comfort/ audio for music and games all sound great. The built in soundcard can't be a bad thing either since I currently don't have one.
