After buying a new computer desk for my secondary PC I find that the ledge for the PC is a ridiculously narrow 200mm my Silverstone FT03 is 250mm so have used half a pipe holder to mod up a fixing. [IMG]

But I am not happy with this and as I have a spare shelf I thought that I might place something here. [IMG]

What components will be going in to the case are in my signature under Silverstone.

So basically looking for a case no higher than 150mm and not a Coolermaster please.

Corsair 350D will be fine on the side shelf.

If you're looking for a desktop type case to sit under your keyboard shelf, there are one or two Silverstone cases that fit the bill iirc. I wouldn't, personally, not for a full fat gaming PC, but that's just my opinion.

Isn't the 350D far too big for his needs?

Edit: Kronos, when you say higher than 150mm do you actually mean wider?

That is not going to fit on either shelf Dave + it is really ugly.

Nope I mean no higher as I am looking to place it under the keyboard shelf George.

Edit: Changed image to show position.

Fair enough - I can't see you pics at the minute so I was wondering... A case less than 150mm tall is fairly hard to come by but there are some. The Silverstone RVZ01 would work or also some of the shorter HTPC cases like this one.

Edit: The RVZ01 would work well for a gaming PC although you'd need to swap your full size PSU for a SFX one...

Edit...Never mind I read the minimum height to be 200mm for some silly reason.

Can you not lower the shelf to one of the other positions or does this mess with the operation of the printer?

That might work and it looks good also.

Edit: lol and I am on my tablet so did not look at the specs, pity.

Reading over your original post you suggest the gap is 200mm are you looking for 150mm to give it some breathing room on the top? The ISK600 does have vents on either side I believe so technically it could work. In fact on closer insp[ection there isn't any roof vents at all so if the case was close up against the bottom of the keyboard shelf it shouldn't cause any issues I would think.

Don't follow you. The 200mm is the shelf size where the FT03 is sitting now. I propose to rebuild in another case but placing it on the shelf under the keyboard movable shelf hence the height restriction of only 150mm. Hope that clarifies things.

There is another more expensive way of doing things, On the bottom shelf I have a Samsung SCX-4623FN mono laser printer which is way past it's sell by date and a beast of a thing. I like having mono laser printer for bigger printing jobs but have been looking to downsize old faithful who has served me well the good few years I have had it. Whether modern mono laser printers are small I do not know?

But it's replacement, if so. allow for a larger case on the shelf above.

I think I forgot to plug my brain into the charging socket last night when I went to sleep.

I read it again and clearly see the ledge is the 200mm part :(.

Modern laser printers would probably be smaller but maybe not if you still want it multi-function... You'd probably be ok with a decent HTPC case as I don't imagine that setup kicks out too much heat

It does have a copier facility that I find useful.

So looking for a decent HTPC case able to take a full sized GPU would be preferable.

Why not just ditch the full height GPU? Get a more modern half height card? The 8800 is pretty much doggy doos nowadays and it would widen the selection of suitable cases.

I am sure I can get it in and I like the look of this. I am currently looking at printers as I can see that I can get a single function mono laser printer for only a few quid. This is one I have come upon. Dell B1160. So may well have a bit more space to play with.

Oops I have a 660 not an 8800 as I have just sold that. And I am not looking to replace with a half height.

Was just about to suggest the GD05B, and I see I've been beaten to it :)

I have one (see sig), it's a touch messy as the PSU is partially modular, but there's plenty of room in it. Just be aware of the CPU cooler height restrictions (stock Intel fits fine).

I would just get a different desk that isn't so terrible.
