im lookin to mod a really cheap case my friend has but the case is so cheap that if i bugger it up i cant easily buy him a new one but my question to all the modders is that it is a steel case but with a plastic front end,and i would like to paint the case and the front but i need to sand down the case but could i sand down the plastic or should i just sand down the steel parts only. :dremel:

im thinking of getting a really cheep sander to help me and there's a cheep one on salf on the B&Q website for £4.99.

I did mine without sanding and it looks cool; you're not going to get a mirror finish on a plastic face so there's not much point. Give it a wash and a scrub in soapy water- apparently this gets rid of residue from the moulding process. Well, thats my two cents anyway. Good luck!

    Two words: Vinyl dye.

Lasts waaay longer than spraypaint for high-use areas (buttons and such), actually dyes the plastic so it won't chip, and just looks good, too.

Check your local AutoZone or other auto parts store.
