Hi folks, I am changing coolants from my rig and was wondering what was the best thing to use to rinse out the older stuff still in the rads and rezzy's? Do you need to use a special solution of some kind?

    Thanks, Cus

Plenty of distilled water will do the trick ;)

Yeah if you're just changing coolants after a short spell, just rinse it. If it's been a while - ie over 6 months I flush through some Alphacool Sysclean first. Guide here for the time being...

MIne was 3 years old when I upgraded and dismantled it... it was still crystal clear. If yours isn't then it wasn't clean and sterile when it was built.

If it needs cleaning (visibly dirty inside) then rinse in distilled water, and use these.

Once it's clean, soak them all in a solution of distilled water (including your blocks) and Milton fluid (or anything else designed to sterilise baby's feeding bottles etc) for a few hours, then rebuild immediately.

That's what I did when I built mine, and it was as clean after 3 years as it was when built.

WHen I build my next H2o rig, I will do exactly the same no matter what else I read/hear: For me, results are all that matter.

Thanks everyone I know what I am doing now. My rezzy mysteriously sprang a leak and I panicked and put the coolant into a empty spring water bottle. It must have contaminated the coolant as it looks like ****. Another lesson learned the hard way:sigh:

I had some blue UV dye (less than 1%), and a small amount of Milton fluid (3% if I remember) in distilled water.
