Um, not sure how to do the fancy mouse-over text, but here is my theory on Eko and the "Monster" Spoiler The monster read Eko's mind, showing us the flashbacks to times/places/things in his mind (shooting the old man to save his brother, a crucifix, etc). When the monster leaves, Eko tells Charlie "I was not afraid of it." It didn't attack/drag him because he was either penitent for his sins, or had already been forgiven of them. What really pisses me off is Charlie. WHY!?! I really hope someone steals his heroin, because after the Moth episode, I can't imagine him throwing that away. Also, anyone notice that the Dharma avatar is a swan in Desmond's hatch, and in the crappy other side of the island bunker, it's an arrow? Something to do with hunting the swan, perhaps?
SPOILER Spoiler Just watched episode 11 of season 2. OMFG!! Jacks wife totally betrayed him, sure he kissed that other woman but it was in a really vulnerable situation - the womans dad just died and he was trying to console her...but then he finds out his wifes been seeing someone behind his back!! after he fixed her!! jesus kinda feel real sorry for jacks charector! hes been through hell!(and i thought sawyer had it bad!!) Also with it ending on "how long to train an army?"...whoa this plot is totally changing any which way....man the upcoming episodes are gonna be freaking sweet! What you guys think of it?
Spoiler alert! EDIT* There u go! done the spoiler thingy majig!* Spoiler Also I wanna add, did anyone notice the scene where kate got captured. The bearded man says : "bring her out ALEX" and kate is brought out with her head covered. Alex is the name of the french lady's son who went missing 16yrs ago. Anyone pick up on this?
Spoiler Yes I did, because everything has a link with everything else, I'm wondering whether there's a link between jack's ex wife and someone on the island, who would be the person she was having an affair with. Secondly, didn't sawyer sake "Zeke" to that bearded man, does sawyer know him from somewhere (besides from the time of being shot?) The spolier tags are [spoiler ] and [/spoiler ] (without the spaces)
Spoiler Yeh but i think he just meant it as a hillbilly type comment if you get me although there could be more into it than were seeing. Speaking of which theres a rumour that "zeke" dude is actually Gerald DeGroot From the dharma initiative orientation video. There is abit of a resemblence and the age difference could be similar i think. Link here :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dharma_Initiative - judge for yourself!
There's no need to repeat the whole episode's plot and follow it by OMG! Those of us who have watched it will have seen exactly the same thing you have. For those that haven't you are just giving the story away needlessly. In my opinion the whole thing about Jack's wife cheating felt totally pointless. I'm sure it will have no relevance other than to re-enforce Jack's bitchy and hateful attitude. Jack's the most disappointing character in my opinion. And yeah I noticed the thing about Alex too. It'll be very interesting to see how that whole story develops. (PS line 2 of my sig )
Wasn't Alex Danielle's daughter, not her son. [edit]Wikipedia seems to agree with me "When Danielle became trapped on the island, she was seven months pregnant. She was forced to deliver the baby herself, and named the girl Alex. A week after being born, Alex was taken by the "Others" while Danielle went to investigate a large plume of black smoke." I'll watch some of series 1 tonight to make sure, but I could've sworn it was her daughter.[/edit]
Why not just obtain episode 12 then comment on it yourself? It's probably not the best idea to base your decision on whether to miss out a chunk on the opinions of people you don't know. [edit]that sounded harsh, meant in the nicest way possible :/
not yet, still downloading, at 59% - man my connection sux. Hopefully done by tomz and i can watch it before i go work -Solidus
Good episode, I felt really sorry for Charlie though cause he's only trying to help but a screwed up family and a screwed up life doesnt do him any good. Damn good actor imo.
QFT. Ep 12 stuff: Spoiler I got the connection between the dove that Charlie sees coming from his mum/Claire when they're all dressed oddly, and the reference later by Eko on to the baptism cleansing Jesus of his sins (possibly, can't remember really), which could relate to Charlie being forgiven for something? But in that same scene a black bird (dove?) flies past next to the normal dove. Any ideas what that could mean?
I thought that charlies mother was a crap actor, i mean why did they have to make her overly english? Also why was she saying you have to get us out of here as though they were poor..the hous looked pretty big and Charlie got a freakin piano for christmas. Ice
They make her overly english because that's how some people in england actually sound. And that it's an american show and if they cant tell the difference immediently then everyone just assumes their american.
Spoiler Claire and Charlie's mother were dressed in clothing traditionally seen in Christian-inspired art. The red and blue colors are traditionally used for Mary. Spoiler Mr. Eko was explaining the idea of baptism. Claire had a very simple understanding in that she thought it was just the way to get to heaven, but Mr. Eko was explaining the Christian belief that baptism is the removal of original sin (or when performed on older people, the removal of all sins), a kind of rite of purification. I think this has more to do with Aaron than Charlie. From Claire's encounter with the psychic, we have a clue that Aaron is very important, for good or bad. I think that's why the psychic put her on the plane. It was to ensure that Mr. Eko would baptise Aaron. Spoiler I didn't notice a black bird; but, if the dove is the symbol for peace and baptism, then the black bird is obviously some kind of forboding sign. Overall I thought the episode was fairly weak. Nothing really big happened, and there was no real expansion on the events of last episode. However, as weak as it was there were two things that stuck out for me: Spoiler I no longer trust Locke. I dont' know why, but I think he's going to turn bad. If I remember, in one of the first few episodes, Jack did tell Kate that they had to be careful because they could soon have a "Locke" problem. Mr. Eko has kind of taken over the role as the spiritual advisor, so Locke needs a new position. Crazy bald guy with knives seems to fit the bill. Also, I don't think Libby is a clinical psychiatrist. I think she was in the psychiatric facility with Hurley as a patient. I have always found it kind of odd that for a psychiatrist, she has done nothing to offer mental help in any way. And when people are having problems, they always turn to Jack, Locke or Mr. Eko. Nobody ever says, "Hey, Libby is a psychiatrist, maybe she can help Charlie with his addiction. Maybe she can help Anna Lucia calm down. Hurley recognized her, and she said it was because he stepped on her foot. when boarding the plane. Liby was in the tail section. Hurley was in the front. I find it highly unlikely that he stepped on her foot while boarding. Just my thoughts. -monkey
