    Hi all,

I was trying to plug in my memory card (one of those stupid SD cards with a USB "plug") to my PC when it suddenly started beeping at me. The beep was constant, very loud and always occurs when I turn the PC on now.

Furthermore, after a restart, the keyboard/mouse (which both have LED's) are dark, nothing shows up on screen, just that dreaded piercing beep.

I tried one stick of RAM, and nothing. I even tried with no RAM, still same thing. LCD on back of mobo says DET DRAM.

    Spec:
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit (newest bla bla installed)
GeForce 8800GTS 512 SLi (newest forceware)
Asus Striker Extreme with Q6600 (CPU has a Thermalright Ultima 90I) (newest BIOS)
    Geil DDR2 Ultra 800MHz (4X1GB)
    Antec 800W PSU

This is yet another problem Im having with this mobo:duh:

EDIT: SP1 has been installed a few days ago, and thats it.

According to the Asus website's help pages, DET DRAM means your mobo has detected your RAM.

Sounds like you might have a dodgy graphics card to me, although the beep codes aren't actually in the online manual for that mobo - try a further googling session. :)
