TV Shows Love Soup: New Series Saturdays 21:30 BBC1

I can't believe I only know Series 2 is starting because I was channel flicking this morning! I loved the first series, made such a nice change to have intelligent comedy for a change. I'm terrible when watching TV/Films as my mind races ahead and I work out everything that's going to happen (I announced it out loud during Sixth Sense at the cinema too ) which often spoils shows for me. Love Soup caught me out at every turn, whenever I thought I knew what was going to happen it would swing wildly in another direction shocking me as much as it made me laugh! I really hope this series lives up to the most under-rated first series.

It's a pleasure to see Sheridan Smith in something decent too, it's easy to forget she has any talent with the terrible things she normally takes part in. (If you actually still like Two Pints please don't respond trying to redeem it... I just... well I just won't be able to look at your posts.)

 

So I guess only quack and myself watched it last night then? Not sure I like the one-sidedness so much of it only being Alice's story now. I liked how the first series flipped between Alice & Gil's lives as you waited for them to meet. Still funny though, the "no, you said go really mental" seen was just so incredibly wrong! It still managed to catch me out as I was sure Milly's shadow man was a rent boy and that Cleo's boyfriend wasn't writing about her in his journal.

 

Not seen it, but Mark Heaps in it, so it must be good

 

So is the American guy not in this series?

Nope, he's gone. I guess after he finished writing his episode of "Love Soup" that was it. Bit of a shame as he did get into some funny situations (the funeral toilet for one).

I'm probably the biggest fan of Spaced in the World EVER! I converted most of the population of Reading to it I also feel I got the most out of it I possibly could being I'm the same age as Tim & Daisy and was into all the same stuff as I grew up. (In fact my first avatar on these forums was the birthday card Tim made for Daisy).

 

And I thought I loved it!
