Haha, never thought I'd be talking about a "low-end" quad core CPU. Anyhoot, has anyone got a clue of what the QX6300/6400 will go for? The the QX6700 is about 1000 smackers on Newegg, so are we looking at 4-500 for the low-end of this bracket?

I think what you really need to ask is: "Are they going to do any low end quads"?

EDIT: Just read this on vr-zone

    http://www.vr-zone.com/index.php?i=4758

Basically, by Q3 the Q6600 is going to have a whopping %70 of its preic shaved off (Down to aroudn $266 according to the article). The Q6700 will be clocked higher and will no longer be the extreme edition, a QX6800 will be released.

that's what i just told a m8 after reading below
Intel Core 2 price cuts when AMD Barcelona hits

Great news 4 us punters, in a way we must hope Barcelona, is a raving success, so that these price cuts are maintained :D
I think that Intel don't intend allowing amd 2 catch up or makke any money doing it.

I guess I might as well wait a little longer than I expected to wait. My laptop is fast enough for now anyway.
