Im using a program called "TightVNC" to remotely access my server, for starting downloads and the like. The only problem is that this means that it uses all 128mb ram and 100% of the cpu when im connected. Are there any programs that let you view and manipulate the desktop without using all the resources?

If it matters, the server is running win98 and this machine uses XP.

    Thanks in advance.

You could try another VNC variant or PC Anywhere. Or if your server can handle it install XP and use remote desktop connection, beats VNC hands down.

We use DameWare at work, it is pretty good and you can download a 30 trial version of the website :D

your server is running win98... holy ********!!
honestly if it cant manage to run tightVNC its not going to have much luck running anything else..
try turning off all the compression settings and stuff to reduce cpu load
