Motors Low/High Fuel Economy Models: 2008 Model Year

    The 2008 Mini Cooper D (D for Diesel) gets over 60mpg. If they sold it in the US, that would be my next car.

    if expensive cars should not be counted why do people complain about those with hummers? those are very expensive.


    btw a z06 vette does like 16/28 US and outperforms many of those on that lowest mpg list.

    The H2 is around $40,000. Not cheap, but no where near the price of most of those cars.

    If there was a decent selection of new diesel cars around here, I'd get one. My current car doesn't get great gas mileage, and most of my driving is done on the interstate, which is not where hybrid technology shines.

    my 206 1.4 HDi gets 65ish with conservative driving...bloody brilliant....diesel forever!!

    audi should get some of the diesel le mans technology into every day cars...

    The Audi Le Mans LP1 machine used a partly synthesized, ultra-low emission diesel that may not be widely available. But at least they along with VW and Peugeot understand the usefulness of diesel.

    The Audi R10 uses barely-uprated diesel technology from a standard car atm. Give them a few years to develop a better engine. At the moment it's road-cars contributing to diesel racers. :)

    my dad has a mini cooper (one of the first 5,000 made) and his gets around 33/37ish which isn't too shabby.

    really? thought it was like $70K. but the H1 is $100K

    And a Aston Martin is £150k, a Veyron is >£1m not even in the same league as those sports cars.
