I would like, at some point to put a GPu in my m- itx build (See Prodigy in signature) but apart from the stock cooler my other two coolers an Arctic Freezer 11 LP and a Scythe Shuriken rev B both overhang the PCI-E slot which would make installing a GPU impossible.

Cannot turn them round as my RAM is the Crucial Ballistix with the LED lights and they are just a bit high.

I am not looking for anything big just something that looks a little better than the stock, preferably low profile but not essential. As I am really after looks here as it will be going in here http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=259473 once I have finished sleeving ETC.

Would the Noctua NH-L9i be suitable Kronos? I suppose you could swap out the 92mm fan for something else if you felt the colours wouldn't go with the rest of your build.

Edit: Cheaper option, though I don't know if the bends in the heatpipes might cause an issue.

    Hi chap!

Was surprised that you've not enough clearance for a GPU but it hit me afterwards its a mITX board and that can be the case.

So, I guess have you looked at the newer Noctua LP CPU Coolers? Or you could go for an AIO? That'd give you the clearance you need I would have thought but then its a matter of if you want that and if you've the space in the case for the RAD itself.

    All the best.

Edit: lancer778544 beat me to it.

I have always found the colour of the fans on the Noctua's a horrible colour but obviously I could swap the fan but I think the price is way over the top for my needs. The Thermaltake as you pointed out the copper bends and caps would be an issue and is very similar to the Arctic freezer in that respect. Cheers.

After figuring out what AIO (All in one) meant, I feel that one of these would spoil the look I am trying to achieve. But it had crossed my mind to use one but on trying my H60 it looked out of place. So thanks anyway.

I did some googling and found the Prolimatech Samuel 17, but like the Noctua, its a bit pricey at around £30 and it doesn't include a fan. One of the reviewers on OcUK has the same board as you and he says it clears the PCIe slot and his RAM. I found a pic of it fitted to a mini ITX board:

It does however look like it'll block the LEDs on your RAM though.

Some more googling has found the Gelid Slim Silence iPlus which is a bit cheaper at around £20 but because its larger than the standard Intel heatsink footprint, Gelid have provided a drawing to check if there's any obstructions around the CPU socket.

Just made up a template and thanks to you that one is a definite possible.

Edit: Maybe not judging by a review I have just read.

You could get a Freezer 11 LP – then do what I did and slightly bend the ends of the copper heatpipes in towards the heatsink. It works a treat and takes about 1min!

As stated in OP I do have one of these, can you be a little more detailed mate. I stuck the Shuriken back on for now and will perhaps rethink this build at a later date as the addition of a GPU is not a priority.

Yep, so, you know how, on one side of the cooler the ends of the heatpipes stick out? Just get a pair of pliers and slowly bend the copper in towards the heatsink. Very easy to do and only takes a second. After that, it should fit a treat.

    Bent the copper pipes.

Unfortunately I do not have a spare GPU to try but just looking at it, it will be tight, very tight.

Edit: No good as because of the height of the RAM the Freezer is pushing tit too much for my liking so a definite no go. Damn.

I have a Titan low profile cooler that clears the GPU and RAM slots on an Asus P8H61-I (I have the same board in my backup NAS).

I bought it off Tel in the MP last year and he posted a photo of it on the socket, showing the clearance...

The problem is that for the life of me I can't remember the model number. I won't be able to look until I get home from work tonight. However, I *think* it might be something like a Titan TTC-NC25 (link: http://www.titan-cd.com/Y_product_C_intel1156_e.php?id=876).

I'll check and let you know tonight.

there is a range of small coolers from Arctic Cooling that fit, basically a stock cooler with the better AC fan on top unless you can find a full copper version. Scan no longer stock the full range but a quick google should find them.
