I'm doing a set at a party on Wednesday using my laptop to mix MP3's. Unfortunately my laptop is quite low-spec (P133, 56 megs of RAM) so I'm looking for some DJ software that will run on Windows 98 with low resources. It needs to be able to play two tracks at once, beatmatching would be nice, and to mix between them.

Anyone know any software that does this?

    on that hardware, no.

to effectively mix on a puter, you need either a multi-channel (read live!, audigy) sound card, or 2 soundcards. (i use my audigy for mains out, and my nf2 audio for cueing) .

the best software that i have found so far is atomix virtual dj or the DJS player v.2 (v1 is free, but only does 1 per instance, and no crossfader - it's ok if you use an external mixer though)

traktor is supposed to be great with an audigy and the kxproject drivers, but i cnat make it work right to save my life.

anyway, the minimum specs that i'd try to mix on are at least a 1ghz duron/cele with at least 512mb ram. 2 soundcards isnt a must, but it really helps.

Don't really need a second soundcard. Just need something that can play two files at once, crossfade, and show me a visual spectrum so I can beatmatch effectively.
