News LucasArts plans more retro remakes

yeah.. but when you look at how much money he's made and started industrial light and magic.. can't really blame him

I'm not sure what to think of a sequel to Grim Fandango. The game was as perfect a game of its type can be, so to do a sequel, Lucasarts will have to make the game for the love of it as much as to make money. I also wonder/fear what the sequel will look like as a decade of graphics improvements has gone by. Will the game have the look and feel of the first game. I liked the static backdrops in which the characters moved round in, they still look good today, but can the characters be polished up without making them unrecognizable. The disjointed look of Manny and co had its own stylistic charm even if it was probably due to the graphical limitations of the day.

 

128 multiplayer X-Wing game with mega improved graphics and sound please!!!

 

Will the re-released Jedi Knight feature an updated game/graphics engine, or just the old one? I quite enjoyed that game, but couldn't really see much point going back to it without updated graphics...

I'm tempted to dig out Jedi Knight II, now!

 

This would be insanely awesome. Shotgun the Super Star Destroyer!

Other than that, +1 to DOTT and Full Throttle. Awesome games.

One of the lesser known games, but 'The Dig' would be a nice one to have an updated version of.

 

I just want a nice gfx overhaul of Xwing/TieFighter games, that an DOTT, and maybe Syndicate but thats not Lucas

oh I know hes worth 12.8 Billion so no I cant blame him but you think he would use some of that personal money to try something new for a change, to be honest I would like to see him redo his THX movie and update that with the current times, ya its a remake but its one that he hasnt touched and could be good. I know we are talking remakes of games but ya that would be a movie that would be nice to see redone. As for games I could take them or leave them. I think the only star wars game I enjoyed was KOTOR on xbox, pod racer was okay too.

 

FYI for anyone who gets this far down, SoMI SE is half price on Steam this weekend!

 

A remake of Monkey Island 2 in the style of SoMI SE would be nice...
