Do any of you guys know any cheap suppliers for 1 Watt Luxeon emitters and star LEDs in red, green and royal blue varieties?

So far CPC and Farnell seem to have the cheapest emitters at about £6.70 inc. VAT for Red, and £8.80 inc. VAT for green and blue.

Can anyone find or know of anywhere with better prices?

UK only by the way. Shipping from the US is too much plus I'll end up getting taxed...

Any of them would do really except for side emitting types, but I need each colour to be of the same type.

UltraLEDs used to do red and green also, but they don't seem to stock many high flux LEDs anymore :(

I've got most of mine from luxeonstar.com. They're not in the US, so your yankophobia doesn't need to be an issue.

They are however, in Canada. Depsite this, however, their prices are sufficiently good that they work out equivalent to or cheaper than buying them locally in the UK, even with tax and postage. Postage has been about US$10 for 10 LEDs, when I've ordered.

Also, HMC&E have been a bit slack recently, as about half my packages have got through with no tax at all. The main problem with tax though, is not the tax itself, but Royal Mail's 'collection charge'.

If you're ordering 10 LEDs at a time, then even with tax, handling charges and postage, you can save nearly £1 per LED.

Purple or UV high-flux LED's of any sort would be cool.

    What about World-Led?
It's in the Netherlands, they deliver to the UK and seem to have good prices and quite cheap shipping costs.

    CD :)

I dislike the ProLight clones due to the variable polarity of the slug, which makes heatsinking more than one such a pain.

That would be useful, I've used several of the Prolight LEDs, but not the RGB ones.

    Thanks
