Hi I am looking for one that must have at least 3 front drive bays as I will be installing a Antec VERIS Multimedia Station Premier, so looking for advice. Don't want to spend a fortune but want it to look reasonable. Advice sought folks. Cheers.
mITX ? Impossible. mATX ? I have yet to see such case. The smallest, yet ATX thing with 3 front drive bays are the Coolermaster Elite 33x or 37x cases.
Of course you are right,I was thinking something else as I type my post. what I am after is a small case with 3 drive bays.
There is always a possibility to get the good old Antec Solo : http://www.scan.co.uk/products/antec-solo-quiet-mini-tower-atx-case-without-psu-piano-black-silver But as i said - you can get the Elite 33x or 37x cases, you won't find anything much smaller with three 5.25 bays.
What kind of Hardware are you thinking of? If we're talking about reasonable powered HTPC for example then it would even be possible to cram 3 HDDs + Antec Veris into a Sugo05 with a little modding. For full ATX there's lot's of options, like the Lian Li PC-6B or the Lian Li PC-9F, Antec Threehundred, Fractal Design Arc, etc, etc. All pitchblack and very clean.
'jrs77' Only one hard-drive will be used. The Antec Veris takes two bays and of course I need one for an optical drive. As you say I am just looking to put together a reasonably powered HTPC as unobtrusive as I can get it.
Oh wait. That way ? Well then take a look at Lian Li PC-V351 : http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product/product06.php?pr_index=317&cl_index=1&sc_index=25&ss_index=63
Why not use an external optical? That way, the only time it is in use (and therefore making noise) is when you need it.
Well, 3x 5.1/4" external is notwhere to be found in HTPC-cases I guess. Classic HTPC-cases are those looking like a HiFi-amplifier and they only have one or two drivebays, but some come with integrated displays allready. If you don't have the Antec Veris Premium bought allready, then maybe the Antec Fusion Remote or the Micro Fusion might be of interest for you. They come with an integrated Veris. Otherwise you won't find anyhing else with three drivebays other then a full ATX-tower unfortunately in which case I'd suggest the ones mentioned in my previous post. EDIT: Oh, and like I said, with a little bit of moding you could squeeze a slim optical drive a 3'1/2 HDD and the Antec Veris Premium into a Silverstone Sugo05 aswell
I have cut a couple of windows in case sides and I am going to attempt a bit of braiding shortly,I think that is about as far as my engineering skills go. Nice idea though.
